Collegebuys.org Has Chosen Advantivs DecisionDirector 3.0 Web-Based Decision-Making Tool to
Assist Colleges
PLEASANT HILL, CA and PHOENIX, AZ In the college and university environment, Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) administrative systems typically include integrated financial, human resources, and student services
components. In February 2001 collegebuys.org began to work with colleges and ERP system vendors and to develop a
process to assist colleges in addressing ERP system needs. The Community College MIS Consortium, KPMG Consulting,
HigherEdAdvisors and SAIC Consulting are assisting FCCC in this effort.
Collegebuys.org has chosen Advantivs DecisionDirector 3.0 web-based decision-making tool to assist colleges. from
initial selection through implementation. DecisionDirector 3.0 generates a Request for Proposal (RFP) based on the
collaborative work of participating colleges. Specific local requirements are added so the reports and information
help districts choose the ERP system that best meets their needs.
The ERP project currently has several California community college (CCC) districts participating. A joint RFP is
scheduled for publication later this year. The flexibility of Advantivs DecisionDirector 3.0 system allows other
colleges to join at any time. Collegebuys.org will negotiate discount prices for hardware, software, databases,
and implementation of ERP systems. Collegebuys.org will work with participating institutions to document best
practices. and strive to offer hosted (ASP) options to further reduce costs.
FCCC/collegebuys.org President/CEO Larry Toy recently met with many collegebuys.org association partners,
including the American Association of Community Colleges and 20 of the 25 state associations of independent colleges
that comprise the national collegebuys.org consortium. There is already strong interest in replicating the
CCC ERP project in Texas and Florida.
